St Joseph Girls Dominate Westhill in Convincing 56-16 Victory

In a commanding display of skill and teamwork, the St Joseph High School girls' basketball team secured a resounding 56-16 victory over Westhill, further solidifying their impressive overall record of 16-1 (FCIAC 11-1). The Cadets showcased their dominance on both ends of the court, leaving little room for Westhill to mount a comeback. This was a nice bounce back win after suffering their first loss last Friday to Trumbull.
St Joseph's balanced offensive attack was on full display, with multiple players contributing to the team's impressive point total. Mila Harmon led the scoring effort with 9 points, while Reese Vartelas had 7 and Jackie Davidson added 6. 11 different cadets scored in the contest. The team's overall offensive efficiency reflected in the final score, emphasizing their scoring depth.
But it was the Cadets' defensive prowess that was a standout feature of the game, limiting Westhill to just 16 points. The team's relentless defense, marked by steals and rebounds, showcased their commitment to both ends of the floor. Defensive contributions from players like Mila Harmon, Lilly Recupero, and Jackie Davidson were instrumental in stifling Westhill's offensive attempts.
St Joseph is set to face Wilton on Friday, February 9, at 7:00 pm at St Joseph in what should be another exciting challenge for the girls as the regular season winds down.
