In a stellar performance the St. Joseph Girls' Basketball team maintained their unbeaten record with a convincing victory over Bridgeport Central, ending the game with a score of 57-33. Facing a determined Bridgeport Central squad with a 3-9 overall season record and 0-8 in FCIAC, the Cadets demonstrated their dominance early in the game, leading 14-6 at the end of the first quarter. The offensive synergy and defensive strength of the St. Joseph team were evident throughout, with the final box score showing quarters of 14, 16, 14, and 13 points, respectively.
Individual standout performances included Erin Lovett's remarkable display with 19 points, 11 rebounds, 3 steals, and 5 blocks. Grace Montelli added 8 points while playing with her usual high energy. Gigi Gracia showcased her playmaking skills with 12 points, 6 assists, and 3 steals, while Lily Recupero contributed significantly with 8 rebounds. Abby Savoie demonstrated her versatility with 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals. The team's depth was apparent with various players contributing to the scoreboard.
Bridgeport Central's efforts were led by Kim Clairbe's 14 points, but they were unable to match the offensive firepower and defensive prowess of the seasoned St. Joseph team.
